Summer Special Tag

Hello everyone! I was tagged by Grace, who blogs over at Grace Notes (Thanks Grace!). I'm super excited about this because, as you all probably know, I've never been tagged before! Alright, so let's get started!

1) What is a nickname only your family calls you?
Um… I don’t really have any! I know my Mom calls me Cinderella sometimes… That’s about it. My name doesn’t really have any add-ons and most of my family members don’t usually make up weird random names for each other. I sometimes call one of my little brothers ‘Ducky,’ but that’s about it.
2) What’s a weird habit of yours?
Smelling my fingers… XD
3) Do you have any strange phobias?
No, not that I can think of… Except fearing that I've really messed something up - but there's a somewhat embarrassing reason for that... Occasionally I'm pretty good at messing things up! ;) (By the way, do you know how many times I've already gone back and edited this post??? More times than I'd like to admit!)
4) What’s a song that you secretly like to blast and belt out when you’re alone?
Well, what I blast and belt when I’m alone is the same thing I’ll blast and belt through the house, haha! I sing a pretty wide variety of songs, but recently I’ve been singing Meet Me at the Cross by Liberty Quartet a whole lot, and I also often sing Salt and Light by the Bontragers a lot. And then I also sing songs that I've written a lot. But honestly, what I sing changes a lot. Next week it'll probably be Kingdom Heirs, next week Triumphant Quartet, next Greater Vision, next Legacy Five, next week the Wiggles or Veggie Tales... Okay, maybe not. But you get the point. It really just matters what I've been listening to recently. My all-time favorite songs are probably I’ve Just Started Living and the hymn There Is a Fountain.
5) What’s one of your pet peeves?
Tapping. I hate the sound of people tapping. I hate seeing people tap… Even if I can’t hear it.
6) What’s one of your nervous habits?
I have trouble eating sometimes. That’s about it. I don’t get nervous generally unless I’m around people and I’m uncomfortable, and in that case I usually just leave the area. I’m an introvert, by the way. :)
7) What’s a YouTuber that almost always makes you laugh?
I don’t watch any specific YouTubers, and I really only use it for Southern Gospel music. But I did get a good kick out of this video and this one that my brother Daniel made for his YouTube Channel. Also, Southern Gospel singers can make some of the most hilarious jokes I’ve ever heard, so I occasionally get a good laugh out of them!
8) What was your first stuffed animal and what was its name?
Oh goodness! I don’t remember! I do remember having this little grey and white kitten that I adored, but I don’t remember its name and it disappeared one day and I don’t know what happened to it! Never found it again. *Sniffs*
9) What’s the drink you always order at Starbucks?
Ehehe… Believe it or not, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten anything at Starbucks. :/
10) Do you have any weird body skills?
I can roll the ends of my tongue up so that the sides touch! That’s about it…
11) What’s your favorite comfort food that’s bad but you eat it anyways?
ICECREAM!!! I’m honestly not very much of a dessert person. I’d usually rather eat salad or something. But I will ALWAYS eat ice cream. And I mean ALWAYS. I also enjoy donuts quite a bit, but even those I might skip occasionally.
12) What’s a phrase or exclamation you always say?
Um… I don’t know… ‘Oh my’… ‘Oops’… ‘No no that’s naughty’… Yeah, not much. XD
13) What did you use to wear that you would never wear now?
I don’t know… There’s not really anything that I wore before that I wouldn’t wear again.
14) What did you want to be when you were young?
Hm… A mother. I think that’s it. :)
15) How tall are you?
I’m 5’5½”. But that's when Mom measures me. Dad has measured me the past few times, and he says I'm half an inch shorter than that. Haha!

Bonus Question: What are 5 ways to win your heart/become a great friend?
1. Doing something related to music with me. Chatting about Southern Gospel Quartets, singing harmony, playing instruments, asking me to perform… That’s a good way to start! Giving my favorite style of music a shot, really. Not many people like the type of music I enjoy these days. :(
2. Talk to me and expect me to listen to you. Seriously. If you want to become my friend, sit and talk to me about whatever you want. I usually don’t have much of my own to say, especially when meeting for the first time.
3. Be the first one to approach! XD I’m an introvert, so I have trouble approaching people, and I have trouble with thinking that people don’t want to talk to me, don’t like me, and that I’m boring people. That's something that I've really been working on changing.

4. Buy me a Dairy Queen Blizzard! XD
5. Talk to me about something deep. I don’t particularly enjoy small-talk. I’d rather talk about theology or prayer requests or thoughts on life or personal things and stuff like that. If it’s small-talk, trust that I won’t have much to add to the conversation. Sure, if you start cracking jokes and what-not, I’ll join in and laugh. Everyone in my family knows I’ll laugh at anything that’s supposed to be a joke, even if it isn’t really funny. But don’t expect me to add anything to the conversation! I’m horrible at jokes, by the way… :/
6. (Yes, before you say anything, I know there wasn’t supposed to be a six.) Chat with me about some poetry and some lyrics! This is kind of a mix between one and five. Talk about whether the lyrics were any good or not, what you liked about them, how good the alliteration was in the words, stuff like that.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed my two-cents worth! And to wrap up, I'll tag a few other people:

YAY!!!!  Thanks so, so much for carrying this on, Grace! Smile  I was so excited to read your answers!  And if I had answered the bonus question, all your odd answers (1, 3, and 5) fit me! Smile  I mean I probably COULD do "small talk" (if I have the write definition of "small talk"... haha!) but talking about something deep will bring out some passion in me ;)
Do you ever feel like you're the one who ALWAYS makes the first move in a conversation?  I was debating what to put on my "bonus question" list if I did one, and "talk to me first" would have been on there!  I feel like I'm always the one to make the first move.  It gets frustrating!
Although I'm more of an introvert, I actually talk a TON, so if we met you'd be happy to know that I will "talk and expect you to listen" xD ;)  And music!! YES!  Talk to me about music, jam around with me, sing with me, and you've won my heart Smile  Haha!
Thanks again for doing this, Grace!!  This was so fun to read!

I'm glad you enjoyed it Grace! Thanks for tagging me! I had a lot of fun with it!
I guess you and I are a lot alike then! It almost seems that everyone I meet with the name of Grace is a lot like me, and everyone who has the name Abigail seems a lot like my sister Abigail... It's kind of strange!
Yes, I do feel like I'm ALWAYS the one to make the first move in a conversation! And being an introvert doesn't help my feelings about that, haha! And it's especially hard when the person you're talking with is either nervous or prefers small talk because then it's sort of a random back-and-forth and it's almost impossible to get to that 'deep zone'.
I can talk a lot once I get started, but I usually prefer to listen to someone else! I'm horrible at just talking unless it's something I know a lot about and I'm really passionate about. I'm also horrible at asking questions. :/
And yes, there is no better way to become my friend than music!!! It's usually somewhat hard to become my friend because I still struggle with shyness and nervousness at times, but music is the easy way in, haha!
So glad you enjoyed this! Thanks again for tagging me!

I remember one of the hardest assignments that was ever given to me when my boss asked me to write my own yearly employee evaluation. It was so hard for me. I think the boss was pretty smart asking that as it really caused me to self assess myself.

Reading about Grace, reminded me of how it difficult to perform self assessments. I enjoy both young and old friends, some of the older people are quite wise for the many years of learning. Also, I am impressed like for example with Grace her brother Daniel who both talented writers ahead of their time. It remind me of how little I knew at 15 and seeing some people that even now in my mid fifties, seeing peoples work often at a higher level even than most older people. I have devoted the last 6 years to mostly poetry and working with an author as co-editor so yes, I do like to write and to people in teen age years on the level the same or higher than I, an older person, well this impresses me.

I enjoy working with Grace and the guest authors here looking at some the fine literary work, songs, music, poetry, and story telling. I tend to like fiction that is based upon a true story. I am drawn to the work of those who compose these things.

When it comes to music, I have enjoyed the Christian songs and some of the songs of the 1970's and 80's, I like to play the guitar, but have kind of given into the fact there are so many others that can play on much higher level than I, so I tend just to listen and watch if I can. I am drawn to fellowship with fellow Christian brothers and sisters where I enjoy both young and old folks. Being and introvert myself it has helped me to go and I feel more comfortable once I get there, I guess it is leaving home is the hard part. But I generally enjoy the company of others.

Greetings - Attention writers of Poems -

I think a great title to a new poem would be "Our Father's Grace".

As far as I can see, a computer search did not indicate the title has been already used for another poem.

Can someone pen a poem to this?
